President Koroma and the its glorious Agenda for Prosperity is at work just like Freetown where any Jack and Jill could do whatever one like doing at the detriment of States Economy. The Government of Sierra Leone in its daily strides in making sure that its institutions are well provided with supports for their day to day activities in ensuring quality and quantity social service delivery for its people, rather, the Statistics Sierra Leone with its District programmes are undermining the vision and mandate of the institution. It has reached this Network that the headquarter team in Freetown are micro-managing activities that should be carried out by units attached to the district offices. One of the infamous unit in Freetown that does all in the provinces is the Public Relations. In modern day administration, responsibility should be given to based employees in the different cycle of responsibility with specific terms of reference. But for Statistic Sierra Leone, it has indicated that the only qualified PR is the one in Headquarters and those in the provincial areas are not competent and skilled to give basic information on current update and other interrelated information, which I believe a class two pupil can disseminate comfortably. Colleagues are out there doing nothing but force to be seen as useless and idle people. What is the moral of the job. Taking into consideration where one working for Statistics do not know what is the new day unless be informed through the different radios or tabloids. It is so demoralizing for one to be pushed to the back and be taken his seat to do his work in his assigned district. I believe every employee working for Statistics Sierra Leone is well qualified and can do their most of their best. This is one way how people undermines the integrity of an institution and leadership. How could a colleague of the same nature and office has to travel to another colleagues station to execute ones job, for what? DSA/PER DIEM? It has so many administrative calamity, implication and flaws. One, it is the abuse and misuse of public property and funds. Two, unnecessary expenditure of fuel and maintenance. Three, Risk involving newly purchased vehicles for the operations of public property to serve the people of this country. Go to the National Electoral Commission, all their vehicle are well kept in work order. Their workers know their responsibilities and limitation. For Statistics Sierra Leone, it is the opposite. Of course I have respect for King Koroma who has been doing his utmost and all to resurrect the integrity and operations of the institution, a professional and sober minded individual, but there are still contaminated elements that have vowed for the institution not to succeed in its mission and reaching its vision. This Network will make a special situational update to the Anti-Corruption, Audit Sierra Leone, Minister of State - Finance, Vice President, Office of the President and copy the Chief Statistician. As we are negotiating, the shoaling of fuel fraud is of high and immeasurable pace. At present, the Acting Statistician in Kambia is getting it hot with the District Census Officer whose integrity is of high moral standard. This Network has been following the drama between the recidivist and recalcitrant Ag. District Statistician Port Loko and Kambia. The District Census Officer Ansumana Kamara has been going through lots of disgrace and embarrassments with the broad day criminal activities untaken by the Caleb ( The Chief Statistician brother) who happens to be the District Statistician. Caleb as he is commonly known has made over 10s of million in fuel fraud in Kambia. Infact Caleb is known as Manager Caleb representing black market fuel dealer. Mr. Kamara, a man with integrity has seized all the fuel slips and stumps as he asked Caleb to make official complaint to Headquarters for his action. Caleb is no man with integrity and this Network has been provided with detail substantive evidence. I will encourage King Ko to call Mr. Kamara in Kambia and ask for situation report on this issue. Another episode of similar game is the Bombali Statistician who openly vowed to destroy the functions of the institution in Bombali, The Presidents Home.( What a Shame!). The newly transferred Statistician ( Aruna Kamara) from Kambia, you can just see the link Kambia - Port Loko, Port Loko - Kambia, Kambia - Bombali. Aruna Kamara who is also no good example from his probity check and also Caleb from his probity in Action Faim stealing nutrition items and non food items - are no good examples and this is an early warning as Statistics Sierra Leone is an integrity institution. This is an early warning in a sense that, during the census proper in terms of hiring, all we going to have is falsified figures, chopping of stipends, fuel fraud, forged vouchers etc. Aruna in an open arena, has vowed that the fuel issue is there reward as they have been shifted away from the Census projects activities. The recordings can be provided if requested for it. These are the typical-tropical enemies of progress, as there mode of corruption directly affects the grassroot communities. How on earth can District Statisticians be given the responsibility to coordinate fuel, trainings, hiring etc at the same time there is a District Census Officer/Coordinator.
