When Boer commandos were winning wars of dispossession against black nations in the latter half of 1800s, Basotho, Batswana, Zulu and Swazi nations submitted to annexation of their countries by Theophilus Shepstone to the Cape Colony and British protection. Missionaries set up schools such as Pinagare, Tygerkloof, Kilnerton, Adams College, Lovedale, Fort Hare and Pax, among others. Black kings sent their sons and daughters there, appreciating the vital role of education in the liberation struggle. That is why all ANC president and PACs Robert Sobukwe were men of letters, authors of books and men of action. Nelson Mandela finished his second degree on the third attempt while on the island. But today people want lofty positions of leadership without first investing many years in the acquisition of knowledge and skills. The obviously unlettered EFF wants to seize land but they dont have skills or plans to make it productive. The SABC and many departments are headed by unschooled people, some with bogus certificates.
