When Crestwood supplied T-shirts and pizza (and a gun raffle in - TopicsExpress

When Crestwood supplied T-shirts and pizza (and a gun raffle in the parking lot) in its lame attempt to intimidate the Schuyler County Legislature, it had to bring in employees from Texas, Louisiana, New York City and Missouri. Conversely, nearly 500 people, most of whom were Schuyler County residents, converged on the Court House voluntarily to voice opposition to Crestwood’s plan, and the legislature’s ill conceived endorsement of it. Over 230 local businesses, which a Crestwood VP suggested be boycotted last year, recognize that this company is not a good neighbor. They recognize that open brine pits, industrial rail sidings, 60-foot burning flare stacks, the added noise and lights that go along with this industrial activity and an exponential increase in propane tanker trucks on our narrow, steep, winding roads, is not a good mix with the recreation, agriculture and tourism-based economy that they have spent generations building. Seneca Lake is the very heart of that industry. fltimes/opinion/article_44601bf4-469c-11e4-8102-5bd812fceb83.html
