When David met Goliath. There is a lot that happened prior the actual encounter. 1Samuel 17:24 And all the men of Israel when they saw the man(Goliath), fled from him and were sore afraid. David could not understand that people who were on the Lord side could be afraid. The next thing his elder brother got angry at him for being there. Verse 28 verse 33 Saul is telling David that he is too you to go and fight against that man. Verse 34-37 David remembered how the Lord had been with him. Verse 38-39 Saul provided a human solution, but you have to love Davids response I cannot go with these... verse 40-44 Goliath sees David and undermines him, even worse cursing his God and trying to scare him. Verse 45 but I come in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, who thou hast defied. 1Samuel 17:48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Here this giant is running towards Daving and David running towards Him while the whole army of Israel ran away. Wow! Wow! What Faith, what a trust in God. Go to the book of Hebrews 11:32 and you will find Davids name in that Honour Roll.
