When I drove up to Bethel Woods on the memorial for Richie Havens - TopicsExpress

When I drove up to Bethel Woods on the memorial for Richie Havens it was a four hour drive from Philadelphia. I had a lot of time to reflect on the concert that happened 44 years prior and how it had changed my life. deep in thought I pulled into the parking lot and exited my car and started walking up the sidewalk toward the museum when I noticed a man who I thought was Richie Havens standing there and he was waving toward me. As I approached he gave a warm smile flipped me the peace sign and said: Hey brother, what are you doing here? I was totally baffled because I thought I had just met Richie Havens again, who obviously had passed.! There he was with that same beard and wearing those rawhide necklaces standing right in front of me! Im not sure brother, I thought this memorial was for you! The man smiled back and explained the day was all about Richie Havens, but Richie was his Brother. His name was Don, Richies brother. A beautiful conversation ensued and we walked into the memorial together. I never knew he had a brother who looked like a twin.
