When I first heard of the EBT cards I felt bad that the people who needed help could not get food. Now I find out some of the people who were receiving food stamps on their EBT cards had no limit and cleared out the grocery stores. I dont understand why it was allowed to happen. As an honest person they should have known and returned it. I guess you would say they legally stole food and hopefully the government realizes it doesnt pay to shut down. It only costs more. It breaks my heart to know there are people out there who cannot get help because of their status but yet at poverty level knowing they go without food or worse yet eat cat food because they feel that is all they can afford. They have to choose between food or their prescriptions. I heard a story where this little old lady had a whole bunch of cat food in her arms while waiting for her prescription and the pharmacist said, oh you are feeding your kitties? The little old lady replied,no this is for me. I cant afford to pay for my prescription and regular food. The cat food has the vitamins I need. why do we allow our neighbors to go hungry? It doesnt make sense to me. We need to pull together in times like these. They are hard times but there is no need to lie, cheat or steal. We need to work together. If we all help a little no one will fall through the cracks. Those of you who knew you did wrong should own up to it and make things right. Trust in god he will provide.
