When I go to the movies I expect the story to be more interesting than my own home life which is why I like films with space ships in them but if I cant have space ships then perhaps some guns and car chases and if no guns or car chases then at least some sharp and scintillating dialogue from charismatic and beautiful actors but what I got in Boyhood was none of these just an interminable view of dull peoples lives as seen by a bored fly on a beige wall - I mean how many times does one have to hear dialogue along the lines of hello how are you youre looking well I must say how was school and have you done your homework - all unfolding at the speed of a stoned snail, with the acting getting steadily worse and the people getting steadily uglier and me getting steadily crosser and wondering why its being considered a masterpiece I mean I could have gone to see Hercules but SHE really wanted to see Boyhood and from all the little gasps and chuckles I was getting from her all the way through the movie I guessed SHE was really liking it which turned out to be true but then SHE liked Titanic nuff said.
