When I heard President Obama utter the words, No religion condones - TopicsExpress

When I heard President Obama utter the words, No religion condones killing of innocents, I wondered if his speechwriter had read any history book, any religious text and/or any recent headline. Just an astoundingly inaccurate statement. And while I appreciate Obamas very legitimate concern for Muslims oppressed by radical forces and regimes (and Muslims are often the ones most negatively affected in these situations), kowtowing to Islam as a religion ignores the very foundation of Islam (submission to Allah and religious conquest of the planet). Quran 2:191 - And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. Islam is only a religion of peace if all submit. If we refuse, our recompense is to be slaughtered. Now, normally, this is when some who are terrified of being branded as Islamophobic (or racist, although Islam is a religion, not a race, and it spans ethnic groups globally) freaks out and knee-jerks into the most heinous verses in the Christian bible. Yes. We speak of those Christian verses often, and we address the true nature of Yahweh. In fact, next weeks podcast (Bedtime Bible Stories) will spend over an hour highlighting the bloody bible. But at the moment, were looking at Islam, at those who do horrific things in the name of Islam, and the inaccuracy of stating (on international television) that In a region that has known so much bloodshed, these terrorists are unique in their brutality. Sadly, they are not unique. Barbarism, bloodshed, brutality, and the death of the innocent are nothing new to humanity, theyre nothing new to nations, and theyre nothing new to those who operate under religious, tribal, national or ideological banners. For the record, I do appreciate that my country will be participating in proactively stemming this particular and bloody tide, and whether ISIL is religious or political, I share the concern of many that, if unchecked, it will spread as all deadly cancers do. But as we approach the entity of ISIL, lets not be so quick to give a pass to Islam (or any religion) with such a long, tragic history of violence, with holy books that speak of condemnation and death for non-adherents, and for the quelling of contrary ideas under threat of physical harm. Religions have often killed the innocent in the name of their gods, and to deny this is either deception, self-deception or just plain ignorance.
