"When I heard about this, I could not believe it. The Dream Defenders and the Dreamers were cut out of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington??? To make room for exactly who? Who??? There is a lot of competition for protagonism in social movements...It is as if for some people "social activism" is not a matter of principle but more like a job or a hustle or an opportunity for self-promotion. These people need to be seen "doing something" and they always "get paid." Too many of these "professional civil rights leaders" are a far cry from the "valor y sacrificio" that the majority of our courageous Dreamer and Dream Defender youth are showing every day in real struggles and campaigns on the streets of our barrios and neighborhoods...support and give your time and a little money to THEM..."
