When I heard of this actors name, I couldnt place the identity. I did however jot his name and age down on the paper I was writing on. The following day, Monday Feb 3rd, I happened to catch a glimpse of trending news, and matched the name to the person. I was shocked in finding that this was the actor in question!!! How could his life be cut short that YOUNG ...46?? It had said he was supposed to pick up his three children who were in his ex-girlfriends care. This further confounds, as he had progeny.. Seems he had a nice place to live in the West Village. He had stardom; I know I enjoyed his performances in Along Came Polly, co-starred with honorables such as, Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston. And then, I saw him in the somber film about a male clergy who has an alleged case based on an abbesss allegation that he had molested one of the altar boys. The name of this film was DOUBT, and he co-starred with the beautiful Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, who starred in the acclaimed movie that took the scene by storm Julie & Julia, also, starring Meryl Streep as co-star. Hoffman, also, played a supporting role as a butchy kid in, Scent of a Woman, who causes trouble to a young parentless student. All of Phillip Seymour Hoffmans role were wholesome and transporting. So, its with great dismay that i read the details of his overdosing in the confines of his West village apartment,..... the denouement of his life culminating in an arched needle listlessly in his arm. That needle could have been the pen that stood upright avidly pursuing the producing or co-producing of some poignant unfolding 3-dimensional story brought home by a composite of his pictures-to-date ... he had remarkable talent for posturing through tough to play roles characterized by variation to the context surrounding their story lines what have you. He has established his notches in time. Appreciated are his cadences and his sometimes perverse elements of human character he depicted in cinematography. Hoffman has brandished a sustainable place in the hearts of us, who knew him through his dedicated roles; thus, if not then NOW appreciating him for his acumen. Ive not seen his film based on the life of Truman Capote nor know of his parts on Broadway, but I aspire to. I send his parents and family my utmost sympathy for their loss, as I honor their beloved sons life and body of work.
