When I lived in LA , I asked a thousand people.. how do you become known as a producer? I was , already producing, arranging lots of people. The answer was easy or maybe not... get your name as producer on a major label. Well I had so many artists from rock to jazz and vocal artists ( my specialty)..and finally one day I got called to produce 2 tracks for actress Shelly Duvall. The 2 songs were on MCA/ Universal , a kids album and wha lah,,,from the late 80s to now.. I have the amazing pleasure of being known as a producer and arranger , recording other peoples music. Karyn Lynn Grant is an amazingly talented artist, she crafts lyrics that marry the music, and she can tell stories that bring emotions of out of all who hear. We have 2 songs to go on the new album. I have co written 11 of the 12 songs, arranged them, played them, recorded them and produced them and each one teaches me something new , and I am really proud of what we are doing. While I am not a Christian, I find what Karyn is singing extremely spiritual, loving, and its clear HER belief and faith is very strong. Last night we recorded Perfumed Oil , and I put the video camera on while she was punching in.... she did an awesome job. This is not a mix ... this is the recording as we were doing it.
