When I look at items on Amazon, I always read the bad reviews first. It tells me a lot about the product, possible user error, and whether or not the rating is really accurate. Today I was looking at bed ladders. A bed ladder is basically a rope ladder that you attach to the foot of the bed, so people with spinal cord injury can use it to pull themselves up to a sitting position and turn around, etc.. It is a very simple product, and it is what it is. The negative reviews of most of the brands were all the same: Product is worthless because I only have the use of one arm. Description did not mention you needed to have good upper body strength to use effectively. Ladder can get twisted or fall off bed. Ladder must be attached to a sturdy part of the bed or it will come off. Ladder is visible when not in use and is not attractive... Thank you, negative reviews, for helping me realize this product should actually have 5 stars, because these are not actually problems with the equipment, but user expectation.
