And shall we then set our eyes on that which so soon is not, and look upon that with so much admiration which ere long we shall certainly look upon with so much contempt?~~Matthew Henry ```````````````````````````````````````````` Like any other human-being, I see many things and many people in THIS world which appeal enough to my senses for me to consider them attractive. With new bodies in eternity, though (Phil. 3:21), that would surely include new eyesight and a new way of seeing things as they really are, I kinda doubt that I will see much of those same things in the same way. Since Jesus is God (Col. 2:9) and God sees the heart of man (I Sam. 16:7), and we are being conformed to His image (Rom. 8:29), it stands to reason that when we are finally perfected (Matt. 5:48) by His working in us (Phil. 2:13) that we also will see the heart of people more than their outward appearance, and be either attracted or repulsed by WHAT we see. There are MANY occasions in this life where a pretty face effectively hides a hideous heart or even a treasury of evil. But for those who stop to look closely enough, the most beautiful of all things very often come before us in a plain brown wrapper. God grant that we may look at anything long enough to SEE whats really there, if we are to look at all, and not just consider what we view in a cursory glance as always everything there is to be seen. Help us to learn how to be patient enough in our lives to avail ourselves the opportunity of those riches You have hidden in plain sight for our eyes only (Isa. 45:3). In Jesuss name we pray.
