When I received my baskets this Friday I decided to do a price comparison. I picked up at a site that had 64 baskets and compared prices at 2 local grocery stores in Billings. Neither store had all of the items in either basket, however, their prices were comparable to each other overall. My Conventional basket weighed in at 25lbs. The contribution cost was $15.00 plus the 4.50 handling fee totaling $19.50. The same items at the local stores would have cost $51.20 with a savings of $ 31.70. My organic Basket weighed in at 14.75lbs. The contribution cost was $25.00 plus $4.50 handling fee totaling $29.50. The same items at the local stores would have cost $48.82 with a savings of $19.32.
