When I see a Marvel Studios movie, the after-credits scenes rarely have an effect on me. Rather, its the credits themselves that always leaves me with an impression - an actual buzz, in fact. The sheer multitude of names that scroll down faster than you can read them; the sound technicians and animators and special effects artists and editors and screenwriters. Literally thousands of these people are employed by each of these films. The names represent more than skilled workers with good jobs to me. They show a continued love and child-like enthusiasm for the science fiction universe that Marvel has been expertly building for decades. They reflect Marvels commitment to a high standard of characterization and world-building in a genre Ive been obsessed with all my life. Every summer, they promise and deliver an addition to that universe. Every summer, I will invest in experiencing it. Thank you for Guardians of the Galaxy. It made me feel like a kid again.
