When I shot this I was thinking this was the Sevier River, but in fact its just a wash that drains into the Sevier, which is actually a couple of miles to the west. This wash is often dry, and in fact Ive never seen it more than just a trickle, even during the monsoon season when Im usually there. I had planned on driving across this wash but changed my mind, and instead drove on to camp at Calf Creek, which was also running at flood stage. The water got to within about 15 feet of my tent. When I got up in the middle of the night to check it, I slipped in the mud and fell in. It was awesome.
