When I tell a potential customer the cost of Shakeology, I often get responses like: “Why is Shakeology so expensive?” or “I can’t afford that!” Hmmmm… Let’s think about this for a second. I went through the drive-thru to get a “healthy” meal the other day at Chick fil A - a salad and diet lemonade. That set me back nine bucks and some change. Shakeology is only $4.30 per serving. If you add ½ a banana that may bring it up 10 or 20 cents (even organic bananas are cheap). If you use almond milk, a little more. Let’s say $5.50/day for Shakeology. What is Shakeology? Replace one meal and you will spend just ~$5! Where else does our money go? Let’s think about this… 500+ calories for a fancy coffee beverage at your favorite coffee shop at $5 a pop. Oh, what about that muffin? Three more dollars, please. (Aren’t you hungry about an hour after that? How many empty calories was that?) Need an energy drink for that afternoon slump? That’s at least $3… Trip to the snack machine for a soda & chips? $2-3… Meal at the cafeteria/DFAC: anywhere from $5-$10 HH with friends… 3 margaritas at $5 each. (Not only margarita calories, what about those chips and salsa? They may be free but not to your waistline!) If you add all those little extras up, I guarantee you it would exceed the cost of Shakeology! Still think Shakeology is expensive?
