When I think of the recent events in Memphis, where teenagers, playing a new kind of game attacked shoppers and, thinking about the events that led up to the suspension of NFL player Ray Rice, this video gives me hope. There are many positive, powerful, productive young people in this world. My hope is that we hear more from them and that we surrender the many behaviors, judgments, and stereotypes that paint such a bleak picture of young men in our society, particularly young African American men. May the following message penetrate your heart and your mind.
