When I was 14, we moved out to Deer Park, Washington, and lived in a camping trailer for almost 2 years with no water, bathroom, or electricity. We did have propane camping lights and a camping stove, so it wasnt really so bad. I kind of hated it then, as I lost a lot of modern conveniences like tv and carpet and a shower, but in a lot of ways it was a really formative event in my life. I really learned how to enjoy reading for fun. I forged miniature swords out of nails. I made a tiny crossbow and a small, but functional guillotine. I did a lot of imagining, and I played a lot of Dungeons & Dragons because that didnt require electricity. I made a small group of good friends that Im still very fond of today: Chad, Rob, Brent, & Travis. They were nice to this grubby kid who wore hand-me-down clothes, had no electricity, and was probably in need of a shower and a ride.
