When I was 18 I met Bon Jovi and all I could say to him was My Dad is the reason I love you SO much to which he smiled and responded Tell your Dad I said Thanks I owned New Jersey on cassette more times than I can count, have 2 cds now and its on every smart device I own..just in case. I probably knew the words to Wanted Dead or Alive before I knew my ABCs. My first concert was Bon Jovi. My dad came home tired from work, I begged, he caved. I SWEAR JBJ winked at ME that night. My dad always told me my song was Runaway...I assume because the lyrics refer to Daddys Girl...if thats not why, then we shoulda talked about this. Born to be My Baby is OUR song. We sang it together, listened to New Jersey on repeat, it was just OURS. Ive never made it through this song live without crying and singing at the top of my lungs, wishing he was there with me...now I know he always has been...and I know he was singing too, playing his air guitar better than anyone ever could.
