When I was a little tyke I discovered Santa Claus hid my presents in a storage space over our stairs. Not wanting to be a squelor I kept this a secret between the fat man and myself. But I was curious so spent my free time devising ways of reaching the door so as to look inside. I mean I was protectng Santas secret so he should not mind .Tried standing on a chair but it was too unstable on the stairway. After trial and error decided on looping a rope through the handle and doing an early version of bungee jumping. It worked like a charm as the spring load would automatically snap the door back into place. Kept up this deal with Santa for years until the Johnny Seven year when I tried all seven ways of firing propellants and forgot one bullet behind the couch in the front room. During interrogation I cracked and told Margie Fern of my deal with Santa , she just smiled and said we all have our secrets now dont we.
