When I was a student at Seattle Pacific University, I was - TopicsExpress

When I was a student at Seattle Pacific University, I was overwhelmed by the graceful & loving community. I spent half my time questioning people’s intensions for being… so nice? I was a brat, despising religion, and looking for ways to rebel. A year into my education, I was often late to class because of countless side hugs, and “how are youuuz?” After hearing the news about the shooting at my alma mater, I was disgusted and angry… SPU was/is my home, the birth place of numerous friends and memories; I took more than half my classes in Otto Miller and spent “all nighters” studying in hidden nooks. I admire the bravery of the man who took down the shooter, and share the fear - imaging this tragedy. How many school/public shootings have to happen in America before we take a stance? I don’t have a suggestion, but this was too close to home not to say anything. If anything it’s a shared experience, and others can reflect… Please pray for my college, faculty, the students that were injured and the life that was lost yesterday. If you are not religious, keep these people in your thoughts. We’re all on this earth together.
