When I was a teenager my best friend Derek Spada and I had a conversation about what we wanted to be when we grew up. Niether one of us had a specific job tittle in mind, but we had very quick answers. Dereks was I want to make money. Lots of money. Mine was, I dont want to be the guy who looks back on his life at 40 and realizes he didnt really get out there, or that he had no stories to tell. We are both 37 now, and I would say we both have succeeded. I leave for the biggest adventure of my life next week, and it is no coincidence that Derek and I will be perched on neighboring mountain tops once I arrive in Woodstock, NY. As a matter of fact, Karmapa KTD Monastery is the only other building he can see from his rooftop. He sits proudly as an attorney in his hard earned, and so well deserved, mountain top home, and I sit proudly on my mountain of stories and experience. Looking forward to seeing you Ulster County! God, I am gonna miss you....again, Denver. Especially you Michelle Parmita Voeller :( Once again, Anders Osborne sings the soundtrack to my life. Gotta be something down this highway, Something familiar, someone I know, Im sick and tired of doing it my way, I need something sacred, and somewhere slow. Looking for the same up on every mountain, Down on every beach. Playing all my songs all the way from Woodstock, Down to New Orleans, And Im still looking, oh Im looking, Looking for a day of peace.
