When I was about 18yrs old I would go with my mom to choir practice, just because I knew my friends Ricardo Bain, Londell Bahamas, Alexys Bell, Demetrio Miller, Rasheda Bodie Tamara Adderley and others would be there with their parents also. So I went just to hang out. But one day I went inside the church and sat down and the Sr. Choir was singing a song that I knew (God and God Alone), so naturally I began to sing. Apparently, I was singing a little louder that I thought because this tall older fella and a short older fella with curly hair called me over and said, Come this way boy, and stop wasting the Lords Talent. Well they made me sit in between them and as they sang, I listened and sang. They both had different styles of singing but they were both very good. I felt honored each time I sat with these to Giants in SDA music and l looked forward to seeing them each week. I learned so much from them, good and ( believe it or not ) bad lol. I was deeply saddened when the tall fella passed away as he was a dear and close friend to me on many levels, and I will always hold dear the memories of Bro. Randolph Humes..... I continued to use the Lords talent and that short curly hair fella continued to teach me. Over the years our friendship progressed from church members, to choir members, to the point where he began calling me his son. Naturally, his children became my brothers and sisters, and I became a part of the family...... Yesterday, that short curly hair fella passed away..............all of the memories rushed to my mind and my heart sank to an all time low. But I know that the God I serve is a good God and He only Takes the best and dose what needs to be done. RIP Bro Haynes Dorsett. And to the Dorsett family, Mom, Nelson, Vanria, Gurtrude, Robyn, Tedwin, Harold, Carol , and Andrew, May The Lord continue to strengthen you at this the hour of your bereavement.
