When I was growing up one of my best friends was a polish-born son of immigrants. He came to the USA when he was 6 or so....In High School he was a connoisseur of Polack Jokes. He memorized a seemingly endless stream of them. The common thread running through that genre is that the protagonists fail to recognize the intended function or correct usage for many common things from bottles to chain saws to handkerchiefs. The way many people approach voting and other political behavior is simply a variation on this standard theme but these days few people get the joke.
