When I was in New Zealand just north of Kaikoura there was a little known place right out of heaven we were told about. They said you will love it. There is this stream that flows down into the ocean that seals take their pups from the ocean up about 3/4 a mile to a waterfall where they can be safe and play and rest without worry of dangers. After a bit of searching we found it and walked up the path. The was a sign saying Ohau Stream Walk but on the way up no sign of seals. After about 10 min we got to an opening and there with huge New Zealand ferns on its edges in a forest was a large pool of water with a magnificent waterfall. This alone would be a great walk but then noticed the seal pups playing and chasing each other in the pool. We sat forever watching and actually came to tears with the absolute solitude and beauty of it all..
