When I was in journalism class as few years ago, my instructors - TopicsExpress

When I was in journalism class as few years ago, my instructors taught us that after we finished writing our articles and columns, we needed to go back and edit what we had written. Well, that is not just true with the written word. It is also true with our spoken words, as well as our actions. That has really been brought home to me over the last few days. Im sure everyone remembers the old saying, Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. I can tell you now that saying is an outright lie. Words can, and do, cut deeper and sharper than the sharpest dagger ever could. And our actions can, and do, the same things to others, whether we realize it or not. I am only going to speak for myself here, but I am a Christian and I said some things late to someone that I love more than live itself. The things I said were not said on purpose, nor meant to hurt, but they came across that way, and by doing so, this person was hurt beyond measure. And we cant take our words back, once they leave our mouth, its too late. All we can do is honestly apologize, asking GOD and the person we have hurt to forgive us, and make a concentrated effort to be a better Christian, parent, friend, brother, sister, wife, husband, etc. I know that for myself, I am going to edit how I act and react to things before I speak so I dont hurt this person so deeply ever again.
