When I was in the 4th grade, I remember my Granfather & me attending a snake slaughter rally in Ypao Beach. Months before, it was announced on the radio and tv ads that a hefty reward goes to anyone who catches the most snakes. I remember the 2nd place winner caught up to 1,800. So you could probably imagine how many snakes the 1st place winner caught, yeah? Judges also went around deciding who had the most genius and innovative trapping devices. I remember participating in games sort of like that frog bopping game in Chuck E Cheese, only at that time we were smashing live snakes in the head with real hammers. Lmfao! (obviously not for the weak at heart) Oh,...and heres the craziest part.....(be sure youre sitting down for this,...lmao!) They had these chefs from Central Asia and Bali stew up serpent cuisines. Hahahahahaha! Ew,....... Aside all that madness, Guåhan needs to get its community in on this once or plenty times more to rid the island of this invasive species.
