When I was just a young girl my Mom bought a cassette tape for our family to listen to in the car as we drove to my Grandmothers house for Christmas. The tape was the Best Of Bill Cosby...its one of the best family memories that I have. I remember the look of my fathers face turning red in laughter as his eyes brimmed with tears...he was looking at my mother, nodding his head, as her very contagious, robust bellows of laughter threw her body closer to him. My sister and I sat back in our seats instead of shoving each other for the spot on the hump, where we would squeeze our body in-between the two front car seats neglecting the other and cornering the market on our parents attention. We laughed at what we understood but mostly from seeing our parents in fits of hysteria. I must have listened to this tape a million times as I grew up...it always held its place in the glove compartment of my moms car and when our family took on a different form and we all went our separate ways I took that tape with me. I recently came across it I dont have anything to listen to it on, so I pulled the tracks off the internet and listened to them there. Not only did this bring back that great memory and the one of regret that some things ended the way they did, it left me with a thought on how much I appreciated listening to someone speak to me, he wasnt on TV, he wasnt typing it and I wasnt reading it...I heard his voice weave this web of amazing vision that it gave me and I cant say for one minute that I didnt love that feeling. I think that maybe instead of writing down some of my conversations that I have with the Noodles Ill record them. Maybe instead of typing something I want to tell you, Ill put it in a format for you to hear, for you to get your own vision with a voice to hear. This is something that I would like to create. Something I want to leave behind and something I want my children to remember.
