When I was st the hospital with my mother for her biopsy a couple of days ago, I met a man ,Glen from Winchester who really touched my heart . I would like to know if anyone might know him because I would like to try to find a way to help his family in some way. Someone had asked about my daughter due to the wreck she was in ,and he sat there listening ,and he told me the events that have changed his familys life forever. His once healthy and happy 26 year old son was also hit by an impaired driver just 2 weeks before my daughter was. His sons wreck was caused due to the other driver using their phone and being distracted. He was in the hospital in a coma for a long time ,fighting for his life with 2 holes cut in his skull to relieve pressure,and other injuries as well. He then went to a nursing home for months and is now at home ,needing full time care . This man and his wife also have a young son with Downs Syndrome who needs special care.As a sweet friend of my mothers ,Marie and I prayed for his son ,God put it in my heart that He has a miracle for this young man ,and I BELIEVE He does. Right now ,this family is overwhelmed in ways you could not imagine unless you have been through it .They still have to provide a living as well as full time care for two sons. I am asking everyone who is my friend to please PRAY for this family ,the young man ,Nathan,his father Glen ,and all family members. And if you may know who they are ,please pm me,because I want to reach out and find help for this family in their time of need. Also ,as I stood there hugging this Godly man who is facing so much ,both of us in tears ,kindred spirits in a sense ,because of what our children have endured,and Children of God ,I felt such a need to help in some way ,but my mother was going one way and he another and I did not have time to ask. We also spoke of the tragedy facing our world of needless loss of life and serious life altering injuries due to PHONE USE while driving. What does anyone need to do while driving that is worth lives ???? My generation and those before made it through decades of life just fine without having a phone in our cars.If it is urgent ,pull over ! If not ,WAIT ,your phone should be put away in a purse or glove box while driving if you cannot help it. Glen and I spoke about all the heartbreaking stories we witnessed during weeks in the hospital with our own kids ,families who were devastated because of the results of phone use while driving. a nurse at Lutheran told us they have more fatal and critical/serious injuries caused by phone use than drunk/high drivers. Please pray for this family ,for strength ,support ,financial and emotional support ,as well as Gods hand and guidance in their lives ,and the Miracles only He can give. Thank you ,God Bless !
