When I was taking art, in high school, I was super jealous of all - TopicsExpress

When I was taking art, in high school, I was super jealous of all the people who could draw beautiful realistic portraits. I always thought - that, thats the pinnacle of art. I never quite got the hang of it. But I draw a damn fine stick figure, and my art teacher said, no, no, go with that! So I did. And I draw a DAMN fine stick figure. Sometimes I get that way about photography, too. I see all this mysterious, beautiful, low-lit photography and pout and think, Ill NEVER be a real photographer until I can do that! And then I remember, just like my stick figures - no, no, I wont be able to do that. Probably never. I can catch it, rarely, those silent moments in between - but I cant do quiet portraits. I am too loud, and too bright, and I cant not make people laugh. And thats where my strengths are - my portraits are vivid and vibrant and happy. And thats enough for me. Thats what I got, so Ill take it. Stick figures and laughter, you guys. Thats all I got, so Im glad you like it.
