When I was visiting my grandmother for the very last time: (she was 100 at the time); laying in her bed she informed me what drawer I could look in to find a blue belt to go with the dress I had on. She & my mother were skilled seamtress with impeccable taste! I remember my sister Ruby telling me once how she (my grandmother), once overnight made dresses for me, two sisters & our cousin to wear. She cared enough about us that she wanted to ensure that we looked nice on a visit to some distant cousins, who were "a little" well-to-do at the time ):!! She always felt appearances were important & went out of her way to do her best for us; with whatever she had!!!!
