When I was young, I had the habit of picking out certain people or couples and thinking they had it all together; that they were somehow blessed, in some magic circle of protection from lifes catastrophes, losses and problems. As time passed, I realized if you dug a little deeper, you would see cracks in their veneer and later might find out that either the husband liked to dress in his aunts shoes, or that one of them was blessed with a superhuman dose of compassion and empathy for their partner, and thats what made that partnership work. Now that I am older, I realize that every single person out there has their own private hell they are dealing with; addiction, depression, forever thinking they are fat, social anxiety, you name it, whether they choose to show that to the world or not. The point is (and I DO have one) we are all in this thing together; the Family of Man and no one gets a free ride to happiness. You handmake your own ride cobbled together from the fibers of disappointment, joy, laughter, and time.
