When I worked at the BBC in Cardiff there was a period after the 7/7 bombings where security was stepped up for a while. I recall 2 weird things that happened during this period. One involved me being led by security to the post rooms where apparently, the previous week whilst I was on holiday a parcel addressed to me had been scanned and its appearance in the x-ray machine had caused some alarm. With the parcel re-inserted into the x-ray machine I had to then explain to a room of security, post-room and a couple of people in suits (no idea who they were actually) that it was in fact a Speak and Spell which I was hoping to circuit bend into a glitchy sort of synth. I got a stern telling off for this. The other thing was seeing the then new Doctor WHO, David Tennant, bemused but still smiling whilst being frisked by security guards who presumably didnt recognise him. No idea why I just thought of that.
