When I worked in a Treatment Program in Philly, a whopping - TopicsExpress

When I worked in a Treatment Program in Philly, a whopping snowstorm closed down the City (mid 90s) - we got 36. I lived near enough to walk to work, it wasnt pretty but I could get there. Workers who lived at the other side of the City, who were unable to get there because car travel was banned and there was no public transportation were punished for not showing up. They lost a days pay or had to take vacation. The Admin dept of the owners of this program and who had a plush down town office, were given 3 days off. Even more infuriating at the AGM of this company (allegedly a non-profit) the Admin staff were thanked publicly for their devotion to duty etc and were rewarded. We got disparaging remarks. I was in the privileged position of being able to tell them to go screw themselves and I left. But others had no choices, and had to stay to continue to be abused. Stay home and Stay Safe only works for the cream!!
