I successfully completed my 2015 health benefits package with the District School Board of Pasco Countys help. My monthly cost is HALF of what I paid in 2014 - not three times the cost. Not being able to access the final cost, I thought my benefits were going to triple. Not so. I am paying only $50 for what would normally cost more than $500 a month. Pasco County IS taking care of my health benefits, as it promised to do 4 years ago when I retired after 35 years teaching. Where other counties make their retirees assume all costs for benefits after retirement, Pasco County takes care of us retirees. If you are a Pasco County employee, feeling underpaid, consider your health benefits which add more than $7,000 to your annual pay each year without being taxed.
