When Jesus paid the penalty for our sin, God declared us not guilty! All our sins have been forgiven and forgotten forever....all of them! So when we sin again, we should confess that to the Lord, but we should not continue to tell ourselves and God that we are guilty. But, but, but we are guilty, arent we? God says: are you suggesting that I am lying to you? Because youre not guilty says God. My son Jesus is guilty, thats why he went to the cross. He took your guilt and your shame and your burden when he paid that death sentence for you. We need to stop carrying the guilt of sin and the burden of the cross when Jesus has long ago taken that guilt and burden for us.
