When Paul Mesner conceived of this musical play he envisioned a show that was a wildly creative telling of a pivotal time in the history of Kansas City and the uniquely American art form called jazz. told through the life of Charlie Bird Parker, the play features puppets of all sizes and types and a soundtrack with Bobby Watson who is also the music advisor. Original tracks included the 12th Street Rag, The Moten Swing and Parkers Cherokee. The production will also be a visual feast of photographic and video projections. There are only 4 performances: Friday, Aug 29 at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, Aug 30 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Central Ticket Office 816-235-6222.
