When The Butterfly Flaps Its Wings Every now and then a policeman is born And a silence fills the air A telephone rings and a humming bird sings It tells the others Theres a **** down there Well it happened this morning I was minding my business It was the same kind of thing I thought I heard a great big explosion When I turned round I realised a butterfly had flapped its wings I felt a chill on the back of my neck I heard a voice in my ear It said Mortal man youre going down the pan If youd lived with nature youd have nothing to fear You could be crushed like an insect by a rolling stone You could be blown by the wind into the sea You could kneel down and pray, stand up and sing But theres nowhere to run when the butterfly flaps its wings When the butterfly flaps its wings Whether we creep or whether we crawl We could be buried alive Whether we leap or whether we fall When it comes to the creatures were the weakest of all We could be turned to stone by a volcanos yawn Or scared to death by Police and Thieves You could kneel down and pray You could stand up and sing When deep in the jungle Theres a butterfly flaps its wings Theres a butterfly flaps its wings Michael Marra
