When You Hear Sirens or See Lights--Make The Right Move!!! Every year almost 16,000 collisions occur because an increasing number of drivers do not PULL TO THE RIGHT & STOP when emergency vehicles approach using their strobes and sirens. This accident in the photos below happened just this afternoon, and could have been prevented by simply yielding the right of way to our responding fire crew. What should you do?? -If possible, pull to the right and Stop!! -Dont pull to the left or stop in the middle lane when there is room to pull to the right -DO NOT try to beat us to make a green light -DO NOT follow us through traffic -Do not make sudden stops in front of us -Stay calm and signal your intentions when possible In some cases our crews may direct you with hand signals, if needed. Turning on your hazards or 4-way flashers lets us know you see or hear us approaching. Our firefighters and those we are responding to help thank you for being safe and following the law. Remember, it may be you some day in need of help!
