When a child has a wheelchair, they are given dignity. A wheelchair lets them sit independently and move around, without having to crawl on the floor or wait to be picked up by someone. At school, it means that they are no longer left alone sliding helplessly off a wooden chair while their classmates head out. A wheelchair breaks down the isolation barrier that often leaves a child confined within their home, enabling them to get an education, watch a street parade, play outside with friends, or buy something at the store. It is that simple.
