When a kid in the 70s I lived in a 3 bedroom council house with 3 of my siblings. Me and my brother had to share a small room, we didnt have central heating, it was cold and there was often frost on the inside of my bedroom windows, we wore extra layers of clothes to keep warm. My dad was working a 3 day week, My parents never had tax credits or benefits to help us, they budgeted their money, food was expensive and there wasnt such a thing as a food bank. . They never complaind about having a bigger house or bedroom tax (we never had the luxury of having a spare room) they just got on with it and made the best of it, The 70s were the best years of my life.... These days people are so lucky, yet we have turned into a nation of complainers.. We should be grateful we live in a civilised country with free health care and government help.. The next time sombody moans about how hard they have it kindly tell them to emigrate to a country like North Korea where life definitely will be shit!!! Ok rant over.
