When a liberal equates radically smaller government with racism, what he means is that racial minorities are inherently inferior, and depend on the government for survival. That is, the liberal believes that by removing government, we hope and intend to lower the socioeconomic status of racial minorities. Nothing could be further from the truth. *We,* the advocates of radically smaller government, believe that racial minorities are largely *hurt* by government in general, and the welfare state in particular. We believe racial minorities are perfectly well-equipped to function as full human individuals. It is the liberals, not their opponents, who take so negative a view of racial minorities as to suppose that their identity is inextricably intertwined with the apparatus of the state.
