When a person is in a position of authority, there is a tendency - TopicsExpress

When a person is in a position of authority, there is a tendency in many other people to perceive them as BEING WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE. The reason for this is that to perceive them otherwise would be discomforting (It would mean their was a problem, and most people do not like to have problems, especially with PEOPLE IN AUTHORITY! ) The greater the authority and power a person possesses, the greater is the effect of this process. The result can be that totally incompetant, and even reprehensible individuals, can be imbued with God-like virtues and capacities that no human being could possibly even posses (Kim Jong Ill/Un - whatever! Ect... ) One of the most efficient methods for avoiding a problem is simply to not percieve one ( ...a method employed by many, many, people when solving their problems, but most famously by Sergeant Schultz of Hogans Heroes, I know nothing... ) This method works especially well for OTHER PEOPLES problems where one does not have to directly experience the CONSEQUENCES OF ONES IGNORANCE ( This is how Adolf Hitler got so many Jews on the train without anyone noticing! ) LGJ 6/28/14
