When an undisciplined man is hungry, he does not care where the food is coming from. When an unseasoned mind is in afflictions, he cannot be able to distinguish the Voice of GOD from the voice of the enemy. When a man is desperate for wealth, he also does not care to know the source of the money. *It is for discipline that you have to endure. GOD is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.-- Heb.12:7-8 (RSV). *All the Commandment which I command you this day you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to give to your fathers. And you shall remember all the Way which the LORD led you these forty years in the wilderness, that HE may humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep HIS Commandments, or not. And HE humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know; that HE might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but that man lives by Everything that proceeds out of the Mouth of the LORD. Your clothing did not wear out upon you, and your foot did not swell, these forty years. Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the LORD your GOD disciplines you. So you shall keep the Commandments of the LORD your GOD, by walking in HIS Ways and by fearing HIM. For the LORD your GOD is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills, a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your GOD for the good land HE has given you... You shall remember the LORD your GOD, for it is HE WHO gives you Power to get wealth; that HE may confirm HIS Covenant which HE swore to your fathers, as at this day.-- Deut.8:1-10,18. *I want you to know, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same supernatural food and all drank the same supernatural drink. For they drank from the supernatural Rock which followed them, and the Rock was CHRIST. Nevertheless with most of them GOD was not pleased; for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things are warnings for us, not to desire evil as they did. Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to dance. We must not indulge in immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. We must not put the LORD to test, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. Now these things happened to them as a warning, but they were written down for our instruction, upon whom the end of the ages has come. Therefore let any one who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. GOD is faithful, and HE will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the Way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.-- 1Cor.10:1-13 (RSV). *Therefore be imitators of GOD, as beloved children. And walk in Love, as CHRIST loved us and gave HIMSELF up for us, a fragnant offering and sacrifice to GOD. But fornication and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is fitting among saints. Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving. Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of CHRIST and of GOD. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of GOD comes upon the sons of disobedience.-- Eph.5:1-6 (RSV). Acclamation~~~~ *One of the multitude said to HIM, TEACHER, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me. But HE said to him, Man, who made ME a judge or divider over you? And HE said to them, Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a mans life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. And HE told them a parable, saying, The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; and he thought to himself, What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops? And he said, I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry. But GOD said to him, Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be? So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward GOD.-- Lk.12:13-21 (RSV). *The people will curse him who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.-- Prov.11:26 (NKJV). *A good man leaves an inheritance to his childrens children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the Righteous.-- Prov.13:22 (NKJV). And HE said to HIS disciples, Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about your body, what you shall put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens; they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet GOD feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if GOD so clothes the grass which is alive in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O men of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be of anxious mind. For all the nations of the world seek these things; and your FATHER knows that you need them. Instead, seek HIS Kingdom, and these things shall be yours as well. Fear not, little flock, for it is your FATHERs Good Pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the Heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Let your loins be girded and your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the marriage feast, so that they may open to him at once when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the MASTER finds awake when HE comes; truly, I say to you, HE will gird HIMSELF and have them sit at table, and HE will come and serve them.-- Lk.12:22-37 (RSV). *No servant can serve two masters; for either he hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve GOD and mammon.-- Lk.16:13 (RSV). Related References: Mk.10:17-31, 1Tim.6:6-19, Heb.13:5-6. All Glory to GOD!!!!!!!
