When anybody in this country is not being treated equally under the law, that is a problem, and its my job as president to help solve it. Obama. ——— I completely understand that an investigation can have many grey areas that cannot be resolved; I understand that cops are human beings and that judging them too harshly can undermine a system that is essential to our society and functions pretty well overall. YET in both Eric Garner and Michael Browns cases (and so many others I cannot name) simply swap races: everything else remaining unchanged, imagine a white victim and a black cop. That cop today would already be charged. Prejudice today shows when there is doubt. Specifically it shows in the way our society manages the benefit of the doubt. I can understand human error, but I cannot tolerate injustice.
