When asked to take a moment to look back at the week and pick a quote that you found most supportive, a Daily Now member of the community had these wonderful things to say: I do believe people have more in common than differences BUT remain bewildered by the fact we live on a planet teeming with 7 billion people yet so many people suffer feelings of isolation and loneliness. This is why the quote The fact is, we are not islands and we are far more connected than we know., stayed with me this week. It reinforced the benefits of empathy - that a shared smile with a stranger, making eye-contact, saying thank you or letting a driver sneak into the lane ahead of you could be the one of act in someones day that made them feel like yes, they mattered, that someone was aware of them - that they were not just one of 7 billion but someone who evoked a kind response from a fellow human. Could be the only contact they had that day and it may help them to share a kindness with someone else.
