When at the checkout line of our local Walgreens, the cashier - TopicsExpress

When at the checkout line of our local Walgreens, the cashier always asks if we want to pay for and donate a candy bar for the children at the local food pantry. They have a big bin of already-purchased candy bars to, you know, make you feel guilty about not contributing. This is wrong because... 1. these donated candy bars are next to signs advertising diabetes prevention products. 2. the children at the pantry need more substantial food than a candy car. 3. Walgreens almost certainly takes a tax deduction for their donation. 4. Walgreens still rings it up as a sale. Just walking through that line makes me feel dirty.
