When dispassionate and PR free history is written some decades hence an inescapable conclusion will hit the sober historian(s) Carter Mission will come out as the most counter productive and worst development in that intractable conflict. By taking Egypt out from the political and more importantly the military Arab /Israeli confrontation Carter and the USA ensured very long term Israeli, American supported, military supremacy thus enbolding ISRAEL into the exclusion of the Palestinian issue as prime cause of the conflict, creating a false sense of long term national security in Isrsel and favouring the rise of the Israeli Right that will dominate and aggravate Israeli politics and Arab//Israeli relations and peace prospects for decades to come. As much as the Egyptian/Israeli peace accordis lauded and attempts to replicate it prolificate it is a massive PR triumph of a lie and a patent falsehood that present every day ME developments attest to daily.
