When he found one really valuable pearl, he went back and put up - TopicsExpress

When he found one really valuable pearl, he went back and put up for sale all that he had and bought it. —Matthew 13:46 Here I go...sorry its long...please know without judgement or with hatred...but with pure love and concern for where we are leading the generations to come...AND AS A SINNER, myself... Todays Gospel, Jesus tells us how to achieve the Kingdom. One Bread, One Body is ON POINT with their devotion today, so I am sharing it word for word, but first, I just want to throw a few things at you. Before I start, I struggle DAILY with these TYPES of things, but I am finding the more I learn, the louder the angel on my shoulder gets. We cant judge, but we surely can share with love...and Im trying to learn through the words that God is giving ME!! We have to stop having one foot in one foot out...Its really not fair to the ONE that came and died for us. Its not okay to go to movies that we would NEVER want our children to see. Its not okay to stand up for rights that we know in our heart make NO SENSE in the eyes of God, just because it feels good or its convenient or its their life or its my choice. Its not okay to tell your child they dont have to go to church because they are tired. What about the music you allow to be blasted in the car or your home? The T.V. shows (like Naked and Afraid...I mean, REALLY??) What about those video games? I will share with you, I deal with all of the above in my home. The video games are going to be the DEATH of me. It is hard, EVERY DAY. Not the content so much, but wanting to play every time we are home and me being able to stay firm with rules and regulations - Im not perfect...I do cave. T.V. is not such an issue. By the grace of God, we only have one right now due to Charter requiring a box on every T.V. as of last week (dont get me started). Besides, it stays on EWTN or WWE...which is usually my husband in charge...a grown man, whose salvation is on him...LOL! Then theres the ole comment I get from my own kids...well, not so much anymore, cause for the most part, THIS they have learned and know better...But mom, half the kids in my class dont go to Mass every Sunday...this floors me and I have no words. Lastly, ideological ideas of the world will flood your children when they leave your home...be equipped, armored and ready... I could rant on this forever, but one last point to ponder...If your child sees you reading a book or knows you are attending a movie or even sees you standing up for something (all in the name of a good feeling) that God NEVER intended on being a NATURAL part of LAW, are you REALLY okay with that? Or are you so blinded by WHAT YOU WANT that you just want to make your own rules...keeping one foot in and one foot out??? Many people dont want to put all their eggs into one basket. So they become Christians but still keep one foot in the world. This way, if Jesus isnt real, at least they havent wasted their whole lives for Him. However, if Jesus is the meaning of life, theyre at least church members, without losing the fun of the world. This is the most common approach to Christianity in America. It makes Jesus feel like throwing up (Rv 3:15-16). Jesus died on the cross for us. He poured out every drop of blood and breathed His last breath for us. As we kneel before the crucified Jesus, we realize that it is sacrilegious to give Him anything less than everything. The kingdom of God is like a buried treasure or a precious pearl (Mt 13:44-46). The cost of discipleship is everything. We may not have much, but we each have an all — and that all is what we must give. The first commandment is: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind (Lk 10:27). (OBOB) Father, give Your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge Your people and to distinguish right from wrong (1 Kgs 3:9).
